Weddings on the Beach

Weddings on the beach are absolutely gorgeous. First of all, what great photos, right? Second of all, there is nothing more beautiful than the ebb and flow of the water with the sun glistening down on it.

What a romantic place to say your vows to the person that you love. However, there are some essential tips for beach weddings that you simply must know.

In order from the least important to ‘DO NOT FORGET,’ here they are:

1. For weddings on the beach, you may want to hire a really loud band. There is a reason for this. With the sound of the ocean, and the typical wind, it can be hard to hear yourself think.

2. Another important tip is to specifically tell your guests that ‘beach wear’ is appropriate. Meaning shorts, sandals, flip flops, skirts, etc. You really don’t want your guests to wear formal clothing that could be ruined, or closed shoes that will catch sand and cause chafing and blisters.

3. Make sure you alert your photographer that you will be having a beach wedding. This is so that he can do the necessary things to protect his equipment from sand and spray. You may also want to tell the band as well.

4. Weddings on the beach are gorgeous, but they usually mean ‘wind.’ You probably want to wear your hair up, with about 4 or 5 bottles of hairspray in it. You don’t want to be choking on your own hair while you’re trying to say your vows.

5. Weddings on the beach also mean ‘sun,’ so you will definitely need to remember sunscreen. It probably wouldn’t hurt to mention this to your guests as well. No one wants to leave a wedding with pain, blisters, and possible skin cancer.

6. The most important tip of all – do not sit down on the ground. Sand is a funny thing, and it can get in places you never knew you had!

Weddings on the beach truly are magical. Follow these tips to make sure yours is amazing, and all you ever wished it could be.
